About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of the LGBTQA+ Resource Center at Northeastern University is one member of a dynamic team of professionals focused on providing holistic support to LGBTQA+ students. The Assistant Director will play an integral role in communication, programs and outreach at the LGBTQA Resource Center. This individual will work directly with programs associated with student life on campus.
The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director and Associate Director to assist in overseeing the successful implementation of departmental operations, aligning the mission of the LGBTQA Resource Center to support and empower LGBTQA+ students, with the strategic planning efforts of Student Affairs and the agenda and initiatives shared by areas within Cultural, Residential, and Spiritual Life.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in a related field required with at least 1-3 years of experience working with diverse or marginalized populations or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Deep awareness of social justice issues and best practices, programming, student activism and diversity issues is a must. Knowledge of international LGBTQA climates is preferred.
- Specific experience in providing direct services to historically underrepresented and LGBTQA+ students in an urban, multicultural, and global environment preferred.
- This individual must be enthusiastic, forward-thinking, detail-oriented, efficient, creative, able to provide structure and strong leadership, as well as being deeply committed to supporting LGBTQA+ students.
